M40 Lahti

I own a nice M40 Lahti Pistol made in Sweden. I heard that some swedish Lahtis were defective that cause slide to crack after a certain number of rounds (~ 3000). Anybody knows if this is true?

The problem with the L35 and probably the M40 lahti is that the slides will crack when ammunition designed for use with submachinguns is used.
Avoid military surplus ammo and Stick with commercial 9mm ammo and you should be OK
