I own a nice M40 Swedish Husqvarna Lahti semi-automatic pistol in 9mm luger. I've recently read on one of the web sites that swedish pistols were banned from the military service in 1980-s because they were unsafe. As it was claimed, the slide of M40 Lahti pistol would crack after approximaly 3000 rounds. I also heard from an expert that only some earlier models had this defect (can be found out by serial number) and later models do not.
Can someone clarify that issue for me?
Thanks in advance
