M83 Reichsrevolver

I saw a Model 1883 Reichsrevolver, officers model with double triggers and an extractor. I'm lead to believe the trigger configuration was; one for SA, the other for DA. By todays standard that strikes me as very strange. I thought "set triggers" on my first observation. The cylinder didn't appear to be a pivot out type like a S&W of today. As a result I wondered how the extractor functioned if in fact it had a loading gate similar to a cowboy action SA.

How rare is the "Officers" model? Is my assumption correct regarding the triggers? How does the extractor function. Is there a modern caliber cartridge that equates to the original caliber?

Thanks for any information.

Frank
