As you are no doubt aware, the Argintine government removed the crest from the contract Steyr-Mannlicher m.1905 pistols that they had purchased once they were removed from service ...

I have seen better and worse grinding/refinishing jobs. Anyhoo, a while back I was wondering thru a show here and a friendly dealer had one of these with the crest intact. At the time, I thought that while unusual, such unmodified guns were not terribly rare but I bought it anyway. Fortunately.

As it turns out, I have yet to see another intact specimen for sale. So I thought that I'd share.

Sometime you just have to go with your gut. I really had no idea how rare these were, I trusted the dealer and he said "you don't see these very often". I had one that was ground and I figured I'd just sell it. I didn't.
