Looking at a nice 1918 Erfurt with 1920 overstamp. Unit marking is V/A.R.## (cannot remember numbers). Do not think that is a WWI unit marking, but am I wrong. Believe it is a Budswher marking for 5th Corps Artillery Regiment. Correct or not?

Hi Malcolm, Welcome to the forum. The markings equate to " 5th reitende Abteilung (riding department) / Artillery Regiment #? weapon #? A mounted artillery regiment? Of the Weimar 1919-1933 Reichswehr. (post WWI).

Macpuma,
the V.(reitende Abteilung) belonged to the Prussian A.R.3. In case of mobilization, the mounted detachments would have been attached to the cavalry divisions. The V.Abteilung of A.R.3 to the 2.cavalry division.
