Could anyone please give a ballpark value for a 1910/34 6.35 mm Mauser pistol. From like new to minor wear condition, no major flaws? I am not looking for an appraisal just a current market price range.

Thank you too all who replied. I think I have done well on the ones I have acquired. I hope to post some pictures of my 1910/34s soon. I have noted differences in side plate banner and magazine base on the examples I have. One has what I believe is a European commercial markings that I have not been able to verify. I posted on the 'German Mfg. (non-P08) Pistols & Holsters' forum with the topic 'Mauser 1910/34 with Austrian comm proofs?' But have not seen any replies. I may re-post it in this forum. Thanks again.

Penders book states "Observed serials indicate that the round back grip peice was adopted no earlier than serial 403361" I have see curved grips on guns that should of had straight and straight on guns that should of had curved. I think the most likley explaination for this is that the grips on these guns are not original to the gun.

I agree that the curved grips found on examples lower than 400,000 are probably later replacements. The guns I`ve seen/owned between 404xxx and 411xxx (with straight back grips)had grips that were original to the guns. They probably had an overlap and used up straight back grips here and there till they ran out.Penders info is almost 40 years old.I would like to see LaCroix`s actual numbers and descriptions of reported examples in that range if any one has access to them.If not maybe we should all report our numbers and start a list.Doug

I too would very much like to see Mr. LaCroix's research. I have seen it referenced several times but being a new member to NAPCA I do not have the copy of AutoMag with it. I am hoping to acquire a copy when back issues become available. I would be interested in any research completed or in progress on all Mauser pocket pistols especially those based on the 1910 patent. I agree that Penders info could use updating but it is the only book focused on the subject. Mr. John LaCroix's copyrighted data charts are presented in AutoMag, Vol. XXXII, Issue 3 (6/99) (According to Robert Weiss in a reply on the 1900-1918: German (non-P08) Pistols & Holsters forum). Since Pender only examined 18 examples with the “Mauser Werke” address a list would be a good idea.

I`m not sure LaCroix`s Auto Mag info will help us. I don`t think he went into the number of "10/34s" with straight grips or curved grips.I`d rather see the actual data on each "10/34" reported to him.Perhaps starting a new list may be easier.Perhaps we could report all pieces(and the grip type)over seriel number 400,000? What do you think? Where are you located? I`m in San Jose Cal.Doug

I think a new list would need to be of all .25 cal Mauser pistols on the 1910 patent that have a “MAUSER-WERKE A.G.OBERNDORF A.N.” slide address. The survey should include serial number, finish (cold blue, hot dip or nickel), if small parts are nitrate blued, type of grip (wood straight, plastic straight with monogram, wood curved or plastic curved with banner) and any other markings. I am in Florida.

Doug, you can send it to my e-mail or post it here for all interested to view. I plan to start a database with information on all Mauser .25 and .32 cal pistols in it. I have obtained a copy of John LaCroix's data and would like to pick up where he left off. Your data will help me get started.

Doug and Orvel, I have copied the data you have provided and will do a comparison to LaCroix's data. I will post the results on this forum. I will start a new topic titled “Mauser 1910/34 research” in order to more accurately describe the content as well as solicit new data. “The Book” may take some time so don’t hold your breath. I agree that fresh publication is over due. Thank you for your input!
