Mauser 1910 cycling issue.

Trying to repair a 1910 Mauser 25 cal. For my good friend. He says it will fire 1 round but not recycle. In taking it apart the extractor seems perfect. it does seem that a part called a disconnector is somehow missing Which I’m planning on replacing. Not sure what purpose it serves but don’t think it affects the recycling. Any expertise would be appreciated.

My guess is a poor magazine with a weak spring.
Any chance you have a spare magazine ?
No only have one and it doesn’t appear it can be disassembled.
Thanks Mac Cat
took a longer look at the mag and decided to try to disassemble it. Stretched the spring for what is a probably a temporary fix and it seems to cycle much better. Going to get some additional ammo and shoot it when I get to an allowable location. Any idea what the part called a disconnector does and if I need it?
I guess I am not quite sure what the exact problem is. Is it not ejecting the spent case? or failing to feed the next round?
What is the serial number range of the pistol?
If you are missing the Disconnector I do have a spare from one in the 241k range

After stretching the spring it appears to remove the cartridges better when I just rack it. Need to shoot it to see if I have corrected that problem. Just unsure about what I think is a missing disconnector. Think I should probably find one and replace it although I don’t know what it does.
The “disconnector” is what stops the weapon from going FULLY AUTOMATIC.
What happens if I don’t replace it? It must cause other issues.
Don't have a small Mauser at hand, so I captured this screen from YouTube (attached). The disconnector should be that small yellow part in the front. The larger yellow part should be the transfer bar (or sear). If the disconnector is missing, this structure won't fire at all.

It might be magazine issue. Small Mauser's magazine was accurately made, there is no aftermarket replacement. If magazine is broken, you have to find a magazine.

Please note that replacement parts for these early Mauser pocket pistols (the M1910 and M1914) can be very difficult to obtain. In most cases they involve finding a donor pistol that is being parted out.

If you are not an experienced person working with similar pistols, approach this with extreme care.

The disconnector is, in fact, the mechanism that prevents the pistol from automatically firing a cartridge after cycling the prior one.
I looked that YouTube screen again.. I was probably wrong earlier. This gun could fire without disconnector - when trigger is pressed, that tiny triangle-shaped part raises the front end of the transfer bar and the sear is lowered to release the firing pin. When slide moves backwards, it pushes down the disconnector and disconnector pushes that tiny triangle part away from the transfer bar, sear returns to its locking position. Without disconnector, the gun could either misfire or slamfire.

Don't have this type. Just estimation by that YouTube picture.

Serial #268950. I can send you a picture of what I think is the right missing part.
