I recently posted photos of a 2nd variation Mauser HSc Police E/L that I acquired while at the SOS show in Louisville. Well today at the Las Vegas Gun Show I traded that 2nd variation military finish (and some cash) for a 1st variation high polish HSc Police E/L. The first variation is different than the 2nd variation I guess in three (3) distinct ways which are:

1. A beautiful high polish glossy blue finish
2. Matted/checkered sight channel
3. Lanyard loop

It was well into variation two (2) before the left slide legend changed from two lines to three lines.

This HSc Police E/L is in excellent near new condition with two (2) marked magazines--last four digits of serial number and identified as magazine 1. and magazine 2. The magazine floor plates on this variation are also high gloss polish finished and include the Mauser banner. This police HSc also came with a well used but very good condition holster that appears as though the pistol has been mated with it for quite some time based on the imprint and wear patterns. The pistol is all matching front grip strap, underside of slide and barrel lug.

I never expected to find a high grade collectible pistol at this show (small non collector show with the usual non gun vendors) but was glad I went and found this prize.

The color variation (purple, blue, gold) on the top of slide is from reflected light bouncing off oil on that surface.
