On the German non-P08 forum I posted pictures of a Hardshell holster I am trying to ID. Inside the flap of this holster, stamped in purple ink, is the marking L P I ,,,, any idea what organization this might represent? thanks, Frank

It is probably Landjägerei (Rural Constabulary), Potsdam District, Precinct I. If there was anything after it, it would have been a weapon number but there doesn't appear to be room for it. This holster was probably for a pistol such as a M1914 Mauser used by the Landjägerei prior to their being rearmed with Lugers in 1929.
