Alphabet DWM P08.
Serial No: 1178 n
Caliber: 7.65mm. (.30Luger)
Barrel: 3 5/8 in.
Magazine; 1 - Chrome? with wooden base, no markings at all.

C/N Markings on:

Receiver - Left Side
Bottom of Barrel
Breech Block - Left Rear

Marking -Right Side of Receiver: Germany (It looks like some previous markings were ground off first.)

Last 2 digits of Serial No;

Back of Rear Toggle Link
Bottom edge of Locking Bolt
Bottom Edge of Side Plate

DWM Logo on Toggle.

I thought that these P08's did not have the last 2 digits shown on any parts. So does this signify that my pistol was made from some military parts? The placement on the Locking Bolt & Sideplate does not match the usual location on military parts.

Your comments would be appreciated.

Walter, they are in the commerical style, or at least weimar commerical style, my police alphabet has them in the same spot, PLUS on the left in the military style. I beleive they were bought as commerical, yours stayed as a commerical and was sent to the US, mine stayed in in Germany, being purchased by the german police.
