This is my late war AC slide PP...I haven't thought about it for awhile, and have some more books on the way, so with this late a frame and slide and no proof marks would this be indicative of an assembly after the Walther factory was captured in April? Thanks, Chris...

Your PP is a mis-matched, unproofed, example of one of the Walthers assembled after the GIs arrived at the Walther facilities in Zella-Mehlis in April, 1945. No one knows for sure how many of these were assembled, but it appears several hundred were put together by the GIs or former Walther personnel. JIM

They are fun to collect. I have several; both matching and mismatched. One of my mismatched ones has capture papers with it!
