It's a Nazi army dagger. Whether officer, NCO or enlisted I don't know.

Paul...... Geo is right about it being a Nazi Army dagger. I would tell you it was for an officer because of the silver thing which is called a portepee and indicates it was worn by an officer. The yellow thing I believe is a watch fob and I don't know as much about them as I would like but don't know that it really has anything to do with the dagger per say. Army daggers started in 1935. It could indicate 1917 or perhaps some unit designation. You need to get over to the dagger board where those guys really know their stuff.....
