Recently examined an unaltered 1906 Navy brought into Mike Krause's shop with a broken grip safety spring. The "Gesichert" marking was just like this...small letters, yellow highlighted. Serial number in the mid 6xxx's, no suffix. The rear grip strap marking was: IV M.A., under that, weapon #8. In Jan's Imperial Lugers, there is documented plain M.A., I M.A. and II M.A. Was there a FOURTH Matrosen Artillery Regiment? Were these units deployed in Flanders in 1917? Anxious to hear comments.
