hello,
Yes ,strange German mark and 1941 year but very well made holster : beautiful commercial look ! Current Bulgarian design for this type doesn't have flap for tools pouch , ears on cleaning rod flap and pouch for the cleaning rod doesn't fit german commercial rod but a T bar shape one.

Hello,
I'm surprised, the seams on the back of the holster are not worthy of a German saddler ...
What does Jerry think?

I thought the very same thing, but the maker mark looks legitimate to me. Maybe Jerry will pipe in...Bill

Other than my Bulgarian holster of the same type, yours is the only one I have encountered with a maker mark. My holster is not in as good condition but it has a very clear Bulgarian maker mark.

that is so cool. Yours is the only other one I have seen with a maker's mark. I agree mine has some very sloppy stitching on the backside, maybe the saddler had a few too many that day...Bill

This well could be a repro. Schwarzenberger and CO is a favorite maker on repros. The stitching is definitely not up to German standards. For some odd reason Bulgarian holsters have been widely reproduced. eBay used to be full of them. Bill

it sure has some fine weathering and age to it for a repro.

I have a couple of the holsters mentioned in the thread, but they are not the holsters with the double mag pouch in the front. Would someone really fake a Bulgarian holster (with the double mag pouches)?

I can't imagine why anyone would fake a Bulgarian holster, double mag pouch or otherwise. Doesn't seem that there would be enough demand for them to create a lucrative market.

I agree about market. However a few years ago there were many of them advertised on ebay. Who Knows!!

The holster is absolutly correct but an idiot put a German marker stamp on it to make it more collectable or what else

I believe Klaus is correct. This certainly appears to be of much higher quality than the rash of cheap fakes that were on the market at the turn of the century.
