Axis Pistols - Volume II - WWII 50th Anniversary Edition
Third Reich Lugers - Volume III - First Edition
Imperial Lugers - Volume IV - First Edition

Photo gallery on Google Drive for now

So, on October 19th a friend of mine said they received hundreds of books from an old veteran who recently died, and if I could come find valuable books that would be worth selling for them and splitting the proceeds. I went over on October 24th and sorted through about 250 books. I only know the timing because I checked my texting history on my phone. What gets me, though, is I had never heard of Jan til that day, and just today I found out that I discovered him and also first acquired an Imperial Luger pamphlet of his the literal day he died. It is such a weird feeling that makes me take a step back and think about the timing of existence and all that. Life is just something taking us along for a ride in which we cannot really comprehend fully. But, it can be good.

So, the books are gorgeous. I'm not a business, just a young adult helping a friend sell a bunch of random books they were given, so registering as a business isn't an option. Are we allowed to sell on this website? If not, wheres the optimal place to list them? What would a good valuation be? In light of Jans passing... I suppose that changes the value, too?

Also, since I'm new and now I've read the etiquette post... I learned I should have my first name here to comply with the rules. I dug through every option in the menus and didn't find where to change it. How do I change it?

I also am not seeing what the maximum image size for uploads is, as my uploads are not working at all and nothing around the upload dialog says anything about limits. I inserted a small preview of the main pic and linked the rest in Google Drive for now.

Thanks all

So the book values differ from 175ish-400$ All depends on who’s buying and where your selling. Jan’s passing I don’t think has changed the value much since he only made so many anyway…could be wrong but have not seen it yet. Admin side Ed Tinker usually helps with that.

sorry if it was not much help.

Nice books. I think $250 for each of them is a good starting point. Check FleaBay in the completed sales search to find more current pricing. Take 20% off of that and sell to a younger collector that will put it to use. Most of the old timers have them and the younger folk don't place much value on a book or on the information contained in said book. These are the first place I start my research and then go beyond and even on the Web. There is a minimum number of posts to be able to place a WTS but I am not sure what that # is. Admin can comment.

Ok, thank you. Looks like ~300-350 apiece on Ebay for first editions in very good shape, so 250 each would be a decent deal for both sides involved in a private sale.

On eBay you could get $350 or close for Axis Pistols, but you have to deal with the fees, etc.

Listed here you can get $275-$300 fairly quickly. I think I sold my extra copy for about $275 to another forum member about 4-5 months ago. Jan’s other books I think sell for a little less. On eBay you can probably get $275-$300 for the others, but again, dealing with eBay hassles. Listed here youll sell fairly quickly around $225-$250.

I don’t think the books are worth any more now Vs before Jan passed away.

Legacy and Simpsons are both fine establishments, but they are also full retail, with full retail expenses, profit margins, etc.

Just my $.02.
