ok,,here is what I picked up. All fonts on all letters match. The friend I bought this from had it in his safe for almost 30 years. He bought it from the vet who brought it back. here are a few pics. Comments welcome

Derek, the 1939, S/42 Lugers, in good condition, are very difficult to find. I hope it has all matching numbers, externally and internally!!! There were only about 38,000 produced, while most years during this period Mauser made over 100,000 per year. Congratulations!

yes,i have broken it down and it is all matching. Sadly I have it for sale on Gunbroker, I am actually trying to save and buy a Bulgarian Luger. I am trying to get into WWI and WWII reenacting. If I cant sell it than I will just use it instead. It is a nice pistol.
