The same is true for me. I've been in the Suhl Archiv several times doing Sauer research and would love to go back again. Maybe?? Will have to wait and see. There is a lot of info on other weapons companies there that needs to be researched also. JIM
My 6303 looks more likely to have been a test than not, only 30 lugers away from mine:
10 Test Lugers were sent to West Point. Serial numbers listed:
6339-6340
6349-6352
6343-6344
6345-6346
And this shows earlier ones;

The following test Luger serial numbers were recorded by 2nd Lieutenant Orlando Palmer, including the names of the soldiers that used them:#6167: QM Sergt Whitaker #6361: Private Allict #6501: Private Hush #6541: Private Norwood #6602: Private Simpson Note the miss-fires and broken ejector in the test results submitted.
