Hello All-

Over the weekend, I had the good fortune to examine another Jager.
Unfortunately for me, it wasn't a variation that I still needed.
The serial number was 10267, pretty late into the production run.
No special markings present, just the standard commercial crown/N.
It had a matching number magazine, so I can confirm that all five
digits were stamped onto the baseplate of these late versions. It
came in a WW1 dated 'universal' pebblegrain holster, 1918 I think.
Condition was nice, though, a good bit better than any of my own.

I also saw a beautiful Sauer Behorden model. No police property
markings, but I still would have loved to take it along home :)
Problem was, I was on a relative shoestring budget yesterday.
Even if I'd emptied my wallet and maxed out my ATM card as well,
I'd still have come up a bit short. Of course I could have taken
a cash advance on my creditcard, but I wasn't that badly in the
grip of gun-buying fever to go to quite those lengths...

Luckily.

Got to take one last look at the above Jager just before it was sold yesterday morning.
Just wanted to add that this example also had the late style of eight coarse slide serrations on it. I'm glad someone else must have found it as irresistable as I.

FYI

Rich,
That wasn't the Jaeger that Joe Pet. was selling at the Allentown Show this weekend was it? I too, looked long and hard at it, but I just wasn't able to come up with the $795. and still be fed dinner this weekend. My wife is retiring and that is putting a crimp in my collecting "anything I want" style.! ;))

Sorry not to answer sooner, Dave. Yes, that would
be the same one that I looked at and reported back
in May. A lucky someone has added a nice example
to their collection. Did you like his Dreyse?
