Opinions on original finish of Swiss P.08's

Ok, I have two beautiful Swiss DWM contract guns. A 1900 Cross in Sunburst and a 1906 crocc in Shield. Both are 99% or better and show light age patina under strong light. I am wondering if they are original finish or not. Neither has any "halo effect" arround the serial numbers. I suspect that guns that remained in service for so many years were refurished at least once.
