Possible last ditch. Help on the ID and value please.

Left slide: P.38 byf44
left frame: 359 waffenamt ac
right slide: WaA135 and an eagle
Barrel assembly WaA135

That is all the markings I can see. There is no serial number. There are no marks of any scrubbing. Reddish bakelite grips, stamped trigger and hammer. Disassembly lever works poorly, springs are weak. Decent bore and finish is probably 85%, no import marks.

What are they asking for it?

These are postwar and are called the 'late date ac frame parts guns' and are described in Buxton's book [photo-vol-1 page 276] Many have some 'home made' small parts.

If you don't want it....let me know?

Quote....."We who live in free market societies believe that growth, prosperity and ultimately human fulfillment, are created from the bottom up, not the government down. Only when the human spirit is allowed to invent and create, only when individuals are given a personal stake in deciding economic policies and benefitting from their success -- only then can societies remain economically alive, dynamic, progressive, and free.

Trust the people.

This is the one irrefutable lesson of the entire postwar period contradicting the notion that rigid government controls are essential to economic development." --Ronald Reagan

Irv-A fellow brought it into a friends shop asking $1000 for it. My friend ended up trading for it (for less than 1000 is my bet) and is really trying to place a value on it and whether to keep it or not. If you could help that would be nice and I'll have him contact you first if he wants to move it. He is an honest guy and would give you first refusal without doubt. Thanks.

Values are tough because most folks [The purists] don't believe they are 'REAL' German P38's...like the VoPo and Ukrainian pistols..

I have recorded prices from $400 to about $1000 [asking prices] but I don't really know what they sold for? I would suspect about half way between the two? These are hard to follow on my data base as they have no numbers and most are the same type of parts...you never know which gun is being reported...or, reported again!
