Jan,

One more for your data collection.

1941 Small Date Mauser Banner Police Serial Number 6128 X, Eagle L proof:
S/42 marked barrel appears original to pistol, serial number not on barrel, barrel gauge 8,82.

One matching magazine: number 1 at top of base, serial number in middle, X suffix at bottom.
This magazine does not match any on pages 171-172 of "Third Reich Lugers".
It has a plain blued crimped tube.

Grips are not numbered but each has a very small stick eagle proof with a rather difficult to read number under it, I think 655?

Commercial style stick eagle over N proof above serial number on left side and on left side of breach block.

Sear safety present.

No military proofs.

Best Wishes,
Rich

Sir,
Would like to add the following Banner to your Police list:
1939 chamber dated Mauser Banner, serial 1936 w, Eagle C proofed, all matching , wood grips, sear safety removed (the hole is there), it is very good condition and located in sweden. The owner is looking for a real Luger expert to restore it with care as it was apparently arsenal refinished or maybe looks a bit dull ofr falat from age... any idea orf of a really good restorer in Sweden ??
thanks
Max

Hi Jan, have learned a lot from your web site and am still learning.
Here is a post for your Police Mauser Banner list.

SN 115y, 1941 (not sure if large or medium - two photos attached).
E/L and E/N. Sear safety present, no military acceptance, 8.83 guage but no SN on barrel. One matched mag number 1, crimped with FXO over 37 and P.08, aluminum base.

Grips not serialized but one has V and two X stamps (randomly stamped)and what appears to be an eagle. The other only has the eagle. Grips are wood but painted black and they have diagonal grooves cut in them and the grooves are white. My father traded a shotgun for this luger in 1956. Guy he swapped with brought it home from WWII with these white grip stripes. Do you think this is worthy of a separate topic post with photos?

Sir,
I would like to add my police banner data to your list.

I have 6502x, all numbers match.

It has a small 1941 chamber date.

E/L E/N Upside down E/N on front sight base.

Grips are not numbered but are stamped E/655.

Sear safety installed.

The barrel is stamped 8.83, with no serial number.

Two matching army type 2 police magazines. They are stamped 1 and 2 with the serial number and an X beneath the serial number. There are no military acceptance stamps. Magazine bodies are blue crimped steel with no markings.

Regards,

Randy
