I know it’s a controversial topic ,and very near and dear to collectors hearts. I wont go into what I use or how it’s applied ,but I do think that this holster benefited from a little TLC. The good news is that it’s nice and dry and looks a ton better without anything too nasty . Thanks to the fellow forum member that allowed me to add it to the collection 😊
Before :

Wood Tints and shades Metal Electric blue Fashion accessory

Musical instrument Outdoor shoe Bumper Metal Athletic shoe

After TLC
Helmet Automotive design Grey Safety glove Glove

Sleeve Tableware Knife Hunting knife Metal

It did ! I think the balance is conditioning the leather without making it damp . It definitely takes a gentle touch and very small amount of goo 😆

I love it Jason and I agree with what you did. We are trying to preserve history, if we don't, these pieces will eventually disintegrate. So why bother collecting them in the first place!?

Thanks Andy , I try not to mess around too much but some preservation, I believe, is necessary 😉. One of my mentors says “leave them alone” , but my holsters are thirsty 😆
So are you going to hold us in suspense and not shiw the back of the holster?

What is the correct “secret sauce” to use to give dry leather new life? Just picked up a case that is very dry.

This is the safe answer, it’s not necessarily what I use 😆

I've used what Jason uses. I do think that if its a bit beat, most times something is better than just leaving it be IMHO.
I also use connoly's, remember, anything will make the leather darker, a positive when its got a bang that leaves a small chunk or shows the under leather.
