I have a PPK serial no. 935744. It is commercial marked and probably pre 1940, but it lacks the K which I thought came after each no. I have another PPK which is identical (hi sheen brown marbleized with finger rest) and it does have the K after the no.232215K.Can anyone explain why the difference?
Thanks for your time, Joe

Joseph.... My understanding is that Walther ran both PP and PPK production in the same serial number range of 750,000 to about 1,000,000. My notes tell me that the PPK's went up to about #1,006,737. After that they started seperate serial numbers for the PP at 100,000p and the PPK at 172,000k. Perhaps some of the other members who know more about all of this will correct me if I'm off the mark.
