Yesterday I dropped in at a gunshop not far from Antwerp. I saw a good looking PPK, marked on the front grip strip: NSDAP - SA - gruppe Hansa.
I know the value of a fine PPK Zehla Mehlis, but I have no idea whether this SA marking really adds to the international collectors value of this pistol.
No holster is available. The numbers and proofmarks match.
Thanks for giving me a hint.

Joop......... I am far from expert but I think most SA marked Walther guns were the PP model. Never say never but I would be very suspect. Hopefully someone else who knows more than I do will contribute.

Dave,

Essential thing indeed overlooked... In Rankin volume I, there are only PP's with the S.A. markings. Look like somebody likes to pull one's leg. I will not go back to the shop.
Thanks for awaking me!

Joop...... It would be interesting if the shop owner would allow you to take some pictures of the markings. It could just be that it is an honest piece and it would be a shame to walk away from it. My thoughts are that if you could post some pictures perhaps some of the other inmates here could offer some expert advice.

Dave,

I will do so. Gave the dealer a call, and he keeps it for me without obligations. It will take three weeks before I can report here, because we leave tomorrow with the family (and without my guns, books, E-mail... :)<) for holidays :)>) .

Thanks Pancho. It will take at least a few hours to read all posts here when I am back. That's something to look out to, and surely is softening the 'back to work' - feelings.
Good Luck.

Joop..... Glad to hear that the dealer will allow you to take some pictures. I would have a tendency to think that he isn't trying to hide anything. Guys like Pancho will help. Enjoy your vacation and will look forward to seeing the pictures.
