Presented here is from out of my collection which is a "Bench Mark" example of a private purchase by a Kreigsmarine Officer who elected to purchase his own pistol from the KM stores/supply house and utilized an outside vender for his holster. There is no fleet numbers inscribed on grip strap. Trust that you will enjoy it.

Given that the German Law holds that the last person or firm to apply such markings to the end product are to be held legally responsible for repairs or warrantee, it is not common to find such retailer's marks.

Your "jhg"41 dated Mauser 7.65 holster would suspect to have a waffenamt proof of WaA286 on the tip of the hold down strap and so would not be commercial. As far as my statement concerning the "private purchase" of the shown rig. No where is there any indication that it was an issue piece. There is no fleet numbers on the pistol and the holster is certainly commercial purchase . What I did not state was , pistol and holster, was acquired from the veteran exactly as shown. I didn't put this together. It does give pause to my statement when applied to HSc's however but given the time frame of this 1934 Mauser , I feel confident that it was as I stated, private purchase. Does one think that the Kreigsmarine did not have private purchase of "contracted" pistols for their officer corps? There are examples known of the same variation of shown markings which do have fleet markings and of course are non-commercial issues without question.
