Asking for opinions regarding purported prototype revolver serial #1 on: www.gunbroker.com. Item # 27484031. It is in 9mm parabellum? It has many features of the Reichsrevolver, such as the grip configuration and safety configuration. Barrel is octagonal and short. Anybody ever seen something like this before?

drbuster,

This is one of the low cost revolvers as manufactured in Liege and Suhl around the turn of the century.
It has nothing to do with 9 mm Luger or prototype. The serial no. could be ordered according to customers specification.
The caliber may be .380 (black powder of course) which was a common cartridge in Germany at that time. These types were offered in all contemporary catalogs in different versions and finish.
