Gentlemen : This is photos of a very rare Sauer Behorden which is all aluminium SLIDE and FRAME . What you are seeing is not nickle plate but polished aluminum which has blued steel parts such as the front and rear sight and striker nut but has a polished steel safety lever instead of blued which is very unusual. This was brought to the NAPCA show in Chattanooga this past week. I personnally have seen a all blued version example from the Steve Fox collection but this is the first of such an example shown here.

Tool room model?

Pre-production?

What is your guess, as you looked at it and held it. Was there tool marks, or did it apppear as a ready for sale item?

Ed: It is a fully functional production version which was for sale at the time for one who had the extra money [ amount unknown to me] in the early thirties. Apparently, from lack of similiar examples known , that sales were limited in quantity.
