I have been offered a 1906 AE that has an after market barrel. The pistol is in 70% condition otherwise with a dime sized spot of light pitting on the side panel above the left grip. All matching but the barrel. The owner wants $800.
Any opinions? Is it worth it as is?

Thanks, Ron

Dwight, I think it's a 9mm. The barrel looks to be a cheap generic poorly blued prior to assembly, after market. Maybe a Numrich.
The dealer who has it said that he has other original barrels. I think I will make him an offer. Although he is well known to be firm on his pricing. Take it or leave it.
I have a 1906? .30 upper being redone by Ted now that I would like to get the AE frame for.
Thanks, Ron
