OK, well yesterday didn’t really go as I planned. But after all the dust settled I do feel like we have something great going ,and we should continue. So let’s try again. Saturday January 28th at 11 AM Eastern standard time we will have our refinishing zoom. I have been working on this project for a little time now. I have two examples of refinished vs. original. I have a 1941–42 code comparison , we will compare a original gun with a refinished gun. Then I was offered a 1941 byf that is 190 serial numbers away from another gun in my collection, and it’s the same block. When I showed up at the gun shop to look at it, I made some really cool discoveries. The next day I went back with my original finish gun and compare the two. So we will do a step-by-step analysis. I am also working on a Font project with Quintin and Dwight , so we may talk about that a little . I will send out an official meeting announcement next week. Thanks

Join us this Saturday at 11:00 am EST to discuss everything Pistol collecting!
We will be discussing Re-blue and refinishing. This is one of my talents , I have been told I have a good eye 👁 😆. We will analyze a potential purchase blow by blow . We can look at all the things that send up red flags . Also excited to discuss Quitin’s font research project, and I know Ed Tinker wants to analyze a Simson . Which is what Justin and I do all day ,with new guns on the market , fun 🤗.
So grab a beverage and spend some time with your buddies ! If you haven’t experienced a Pistol Collectors zoom you are missing out .

Jason S L is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it as I will be set up at a gun show. Any chance for a post-meeting recap?

Thank you to everyone that attended the zoom !
@Edward Tinker was very generous and donated this weeks awesome prize . Matt was our winner ! I am sure he will enjoy his book .
Thank you very much to @HerrKaiser for spearheading our font project with assistance from @Like_Old_Guns , @Dwight Gruber, and @Vlim . Roger has uncovered another element that ties into Mauser production of P.38 , and how it relates to our data . @nieuport also discovered a similar anomaly in Sauer production fonts that he will follow up on . Very exciting.
We spoke about bluing and @Dwight Gruber and @Vlim were spot on with analysis. Thank you .
Good times folks , see you in a few weeks 😉👍
Updated 😉

Thanks to Jason for putting on another very interesting and informational Zoom call this morning!

It was extremely helpful to see examples of original and re-blued finishes and I learned some additional information on what to look for when comparing guns. The font discussion was very interesting as well and I look forward to additional information and analysis with that project.

@Jason S L ...didn't someone named @modarson win the drawing? :D

Thanks,
Matt
