Hi guys,
I came across a matching 1916 DWM Luger at my local gunshop this weekend. The left side of the frame has a large RFV marking followed by a six digit serial #.Would the markings add any value to the pistol? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Len

Len, RFV is believed to stand for the German version of the IRS which also oversaw Customs and Border Guards, 'Reichsfinanzverwaltung'. This could have been a Customs officers' or Borderguards' pistol. If it's a legitimate marking, it would add value to some collectors. It would be a worthwhile Luger to have in my opinion.
