·I just got a Rheinmetall 7.65 Model pistol. I know that these are rare and I've never seen one in 30 years of collecting before I got this one. I bought it from this picture below...
The gun is now here and in pieces on the dining room table, finally... The pistol looks MUCH better than the picture I posted (from the seller). His lighting made it look like there was no blue left when there is over 90%! The bore is absolutely perfect. The seller stated correctly that the trigger did not function but the $88 price was WAY too cheap to pass on!
However, the trigger transfer bar is MISSING, which made disassembly a matter of guess, hope and luck (and the EXACT sized and shaped screwdriver by chance!). My thought is that someone removed the transfer bar to disable the gun when they brought it back after the war.
(it's in a WW2 officer's pigskin Sauer Hsc holster, and the wear pattern inside shows it's been there a long time.) And since, it's passed into other hands without the bar following with it.
Now, WHERE THE HECK AM I GONNA FIND A RHEINMETALL TRANSFER BAR!!!!!!! I've never even seen another pistol before in my life, just pics.
I'd try to make one but it looks like a complicated shape, so that's out. If it's metal and you can't make it with a hacksaw, file and big hammer, I'm over my head.
