S/42 CODE-1937 DATED-BLUED SUBVARIATION-LUGER, WITH ACCESSORIES.
During 1937 Mauser produced approximately 126,000 Lugers in the 4500p to 400b serial range for the German military (a very few went to the Kriegsmarine and police). These bear a 1937 date, S/42 code and bear either a droop wing E/63 or stick wing E/63 acceptance stamp. There are two subvariations of 1937 S/42. Shown is the second subvariation with blued parts. These are found in the 1500t to 400b serial range. About 89,000 were produced. (Any update in serial ranges would be most appreciated.)
