I just bought this Sauer 38h rig. Serial # 459224 and eagle/37 on trigger guard. It came with an orig. Sauer and Sohn mag plus an umarked extra mag.The holster has no maker marks or date but does have the last owners name in ink on the inside of the flap.It is marked: Obgefr. Hans Danner, F.P.06793A. Any clues as to where this person was stationed or possibly a unit ID? Thanks,, Mike

It looks like this holster has been with this gun for a long time. The wear marks on the leather match up. Maybe whoever picked up the 38h found a holster to fit or maybe it was issued with the weapon. Hard to say . Thanks,,, Mike

Mike, Just FYI, the French did use this type holster for captured Sauers, post war. This may be one of those. Most French used Sauers had an added laynard loop, but unaltered pistols are known. Can anyone dedode the markings?
