Sauer&Sohn Mod.28 rig

Pictured here is a seldom seen S&S Mod.28 rig.
The holster with the pushbutton catch is typical for the
Reichswehr ( Weimar Army )or Austrian Army of this time.
This particular pistol was delivered in 1929 to Austria.

The meaning of the additional number on the right side could not beclarified so far yet.Perhaps it is an authorities or police registration number.

an excellent rig. Congrats! I do agree with you that the four digit number can be interpreted as an inventory number.
