Sauer&Sohn Mod.28 rig

Pictured here is a seldom seen S&S Mod.28 rig.
The holster with the pushbutton catch is typical for the
Reichswehr ( Weimar Army )or Austrian Army of this time.
This particular pistol was delivered in 1929 to Austria.

The meaning of the additional number on the right side could not beclarified so far yet.Perhaps it is an authorities or police registration number.

Excuse me, but I was always under the impression that these proofings and the numbers displayed/stamped on to the surfaces of weapons by different countries proofhouse's represent a ledger number that the proofhouses recorded this weapon's description/type followed by the year accomplished and not some inventory number per-se.
