As I do not know you and you certainly do not know me I have to ask you on this one what do you call standard military proofs on a 1938 Mauser. Could it be a banner luger as the magazines are police marked 1 and 2 or what.Is it possible that this is a police luger and not a military one.
Your earlier post about the french luger's was very vague, my question was aimed at trying to find out if you knew what you were talking about as the 1903 French commercial with Charge on the extractor is very rare and the 1906 French commercial with several other distinguishable characteristics is even rarer
As to your above question
" Quote was there any situation where this combination would be correct unquote" .
The answer would be several situations.
You should attempt to answer Dwight"s detailed questions on the 1903 French and have the common courtesy to help the man out on his survey with serial numbers and so on.
No need to lay out the hard cash that would certainly be required, just ask the owner for another detailed look and copy everything pertinent down
Pictures are nice but those that do not have the ability to post photo's usually are a bit more detailed in their reply's.
The members on this forum give of their time freely and will try and help you but you have to do your part.
My earlier post was a bit rude and I have edited it, rudeness is not what this forum is about and I apologize to all.
