I have just bought a loader which is properly marked. I was looking at some photos of these tools I had in my computer and I notice that on mine the release button arm is at an angle to the main body that fits over the mag. whereas in the photo it shows it horizontal. Was there more than one design for loaders does any of you guys know?

This is the one I bought

I'd be pleased to hear any comments you guys may have on this.

Thanks Roy

Roy, There were two makers so there may be more than one design. The angled spring form is what I am looking at on one of my loaders.

Thanks Geo and Patrick that puts my mind at ease a bit but when I looked at the Crown/S I knew the thing was original. I havn't tried to load my drum with it yet, quite a piece of work these snaildrums.

Thanks Guys.

Nice to see one original loader B/N :the flat side from the handle aren't machined and a little round.
On repros they are rectified and perfectely flat

Hello Roland
For me ,those loader with the handle rectified and in so beautiful condition are repro. or very suspects.
We have then in our gun show since several years , made in asian country like the double mag pouch looking like iranian but also with WWI german imperial stamps
And now in germany there's repro made older with acid bath ; I saw them in Belgium.
Look at this and do your opinion yourself :

Every day some loader in auction site and it was made one loader for five trommelmagazin (dixit experts) and there's not very much auction about the snaildrum .

Lu1900 a while ago there was an auction about a snail drum in the German egun online platform , which was indentified by a member to be a fake bekause of the slot in the magazie housing, I would like to know if and where these fake items are produced and being sold ?
The guy selling that snail drum loader you told me is selling now a dust cover for it - dont know either if original ore not!
