Up for sale is a Type 25 sword scabbard has original paint. Blade is straight and has a few nicks on edge towards the end. These swords are hard to find and it's the only I have come across. I spoke to a Japanese sword collector at a show and he told me he's only had two come his way.
The Type 25 cavalry sword was introduced in 1892, only to be replaced just seven years later in 1899 with the introduction of the Type 32 cavalry sword. It has been estimated that only about 17,000 of these Type 25 swords were produced before the introduction of the Type 32 as its replacement. Overall this Type 25 cavalry sword is in good condition.
