Here are photos of an unusual 1940-42 code......frame serial #4551n .....upper half #3896.......P08 stamped on side plate???....JAP Stamped on Chamber??......unusual grips with #51 stamped inside??

I have observed photographs of this luger or another 1940 Luger with a similar "JAP" stamp. Someone commented that "JAP" was never a complimentary term toward the Japanese, therefore the stamp was likley applied by a British or Canadian soldier.
