Just received an excellent 1916 DWM Luger with matching grips. They grips are both numbered to the gun, and the serial number stampings in the wood are identical in size and shape.

The left grip is walnut, and the right grip is beech. I know that beech was used during the latter part of WW-I on DWMs, but this is the first time I have seen a mix of walnut and beech.

Has anyone else seen this?
