The end of Blue Book of Gun Values
More than 20 years have passed since I started working with Steve Fjestad contributing data and information on FN and Belgian guns. After Steve's passing, the torch was passed on to Lisa who did a marvelous job publishing and expanding Steve's lifelong work.
Sadly contributors have been hearing in past weeks that Blue Book Publications has been bought out by another outfit. Long-time employees resigned or were let go. Some jobs were outsourced outside of the U.S.
There were 44 editions printed and the 44rd edition will be the last as the new owners only entertain a web based subscription service. It appears that the many contributors, with their lifelong expertise, will be replaced by an A.I. program that just scans the web. I was told that the current information will be reduced and edited down to include only popular items.
These last editions will certainly become collectible. The extensive content and vast amount of information will continue to be useful to collectors.
Thanks for reading!
