Garfield,

Nice 300 and thanks for posting the pictures and including the holster. I love these Astra 300s! Your 300 Astra is over 1000 earlier than mine posted below. I think they started as I recall at about serial number 533,800 or something close to that. Thanks again!

LLoyd:

Astra started producing the Astra 300 in 1923 beginning with serial # 350001. A total of 153,085 300s were produced, Antaris, Astra Automatic Pistols. The Nazi military contract started with 533894. 63000 9mm Kurtz and 22390 7.65 were produced and delivered.

Do the grips on your early pistol have anthing stamped in ink on the back?

I have attached some pictures of a very early 300. It is not German related but thought that you might find it of interest. Spanish procurement records show that this pistol was part of a contract that went to Spanish prison guards. The "salesman sample" grips were on it when I purchased it. I have no illusions that they are original to the pistol as they are associated with the special finish pistols; just don't know how they got there. All I do know about these grips is that they are hard to come by in any kind of condition. Please enjoy.
