99% sure I already know the answer to this question, but will ask to make certain. Picked up a 1917 Navy rebuild with a 4" barrel a couple weeks ago (AKA "Garage Sale Luger on the Forum). There are no markings of any kind including serial number on the barrel. I am assuming that no German Government entity would have replaced the barrel leaving it completely blank and that the barrel must therefore be a "civilian" replacement. Am I correct on this?

Thanks Taudelt,
Was reasonablly certain that was the case so no surprise. Knew what I was getting when I bought it, but it's a great looking piece and anything I've seen around the price at a gun show would have been better off being used for a hammer. Seller was happy and I was ecstatic so a good time was had by all.
