Here for your perusal is my Colt Model 1911 1918 production pistol serial number 257754 which was 1 of 3900 pistols shipped on March 27, 1918 to the Commanding Officer Springfield Armory MA. It probably saw service with the AEF in France.
Sweet 1911! Much nicer and more original than mine. I also have a 1918 vintage 1911 but a Colt lower with an AJ Savage slide. Unfortunately some knucklehead had it polished and reblued but I still like it.
