That is a little on the high side for a rebuild, especially with the bore condition you mention. As an arsenal overhaul, it would have left RIA with either an excellent bore or a new barrel. The US&S slides don't bring that much of a premium as there were far more slides than frames built, and going through overhaul the finish would have been changed from Du-Lite blue to phosphate. I would think somewhere in the $750/850 range would be more in line.
