I recently purchased a german 1911 military P08. All matching except magazine. Wood mag base plug is numbered vertically. Does any one know if plug is original or is it a reproduction? U able to find anything about this in me research. I am new to collecting

Unfortunately, the grips are period correct but not original to the Luger, the two mags are original mint condition Swiss also. I’ve since added a correct wooden base mag, of course non matching.
My interest in this First Issue was the Bavarian unit it was issued to. The 8th was in the line very close to my wife’s Great Uncles unit, The Hessian 5th Grand Ducal at Verdun. My wife’s uncle was KIA there AUG 1916.

Hi Garysww1, I have a First Issue vertical numbered mag with the same numbers minus the dot. Possibly the mate to that mag.

Patronen, I also have another ww1 mag in excellent pristine condition that we could put in the mix to discuss. Just paid top $ for it thru Legacy collectibles. Let me know
Hi, Not looking to sell it since I have a First Issue and even though it doesn.t match it is still proper for it compared to a non-First Issue mag.
