As a retired Deputy Sheriff, I can confirm that the ATF&E officer screwed up by not presenting his identification/credentials first to the homeowner, and then to the responding uniformed officers. He additionally exacerbated the situation by refusing to comply with the first officer's command to "get on the ground". I worked plain cloths most of my career, and if ever confronted by a uniformed officer who did not know me, I would immediately comply with his/her commands. This ATF&E guy was typical of many of the ATF&E agents I worked with. Not too well trained and not to bright!
