My son picked this up for me yesterday on his way out of town , I won't have it until he returns Monday but he did disassemble to check if matching and bore. Cosmetically its not in very good condition but mechanically there is very little wear and the bore is great.
Thanks for any comments, John.
It’s a late war police issue PP. I like it for sure. The eagle over the F denotes police issue. The ac being in line with the serial number on the slide is kind of rare too.... Manufactured in late 1944...
I had him send me pictures of the mag this morning ,posted above and see that it does have the later W stamp for not hardened. Now I have to find a second. He sais the left grip that looks cracked actually has a gouge taken out of it.
Got the PP from my son today. A second W marked mag will be at the top of my want list now.
Also now that I have it in hand and have been able to break it down you can see that the blueing was never very dark. It reminds me a bit of the finish on a couple of my Radom VIS's.
