Webley and Scott in Imperial army?

I found a notice in an old german book about the german Colonial-troops (Schutztruppen) where the author said, that pistols manufactured by webley & Scott were in use there before the Luger-Pistol gets the regular handgun of german army. Is there anyone knows about which model this could be and if there are other sources which might confirm this statement?
Thanks in advance

See online version, DEUTSCHES KOLONIAL-LEXIKON, 1920. Exact models are not specified. See also: www.kukri.de, passim.
If you can't find the entries in the DKL online let me know and I'll refer you from a hard copy.
BTW, Schutztruppen not part of the Army; under Colonial Office.
