Gentlemen, Today I found a Webley & Scott Mark IV .38 (war finish) serial number 1050xx. The finish is original and 80%+. Bore is shiney, grips are excellent, and the landyard ring is still there. I have two questions; When was this revolver made? and what price range is appropriate? Thanks for any info including Webley websites. Mark

You can find more information in "Revolvers of the British Services 1854-1954" by Chamberlain and Taylerson. There are several good price guides, like the Blue Book, or cruise dealers' websites to see what they are asking for these.
Experienced collectors (I'm not) will always give you one word of advice - books. Buy all you can afford - they are the best investment you can make.
